The Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy is a pioneer and a driver of bioeconomy research. For the project on “Land management and biomass utilization of wet fenlands: Network of model and demonstration projects in peatland regions of Brandenburg (WetNetBB)”, we are seeking, for as soon as possible

Data Expert in the project WetNetBB (m/f/d) (100 %)

The aim of the project is to create a network of model and demonstration projects for the use of rewetted fens with representative fen areas, biomass utilization pathways and relevant actors in Brandenburg. External partners are the Brandenburg State Office for the Environment (LfU), the University for Sustainable Development Eberswalde (HNEE), the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) and the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ). The WetNetBB network is planned as part of a network of model and demonstration projects (PaludiNet) coordinated by the Thünen Institute (TI) and Greifswald Moor Centrum (GMC) as PaludiCenter. The position is assigned to the Technology Assessment department at the ATB, and a close cooperation with the Systems Process Engineering department and Central IT and Research Data Management Unit is planned.

Your responsibilities

Support in the curation of research data according to FAIR principles (organization, integration, maintenance, evaluation, management and publication of data)
Connecting and maintaining central data platforms across the network partners
Data exchange within the network and with the central coordination
In addition to digital curation, the curation of analog data, including conversion to digital form, is also required on a large scale
Development and continuous updating of a data management plan and data process plan for the overall project
Collecting data, recording and entering metadata according to common standard, archiving, publishing and reformatting data and updating metadata
Updating existing software and database systems
Maintaining and updating metadata
Reformatting existing data
Software development

Your qualifications

Very good university degree in one of the following fields: computer science, data management, sciences or related fields, ideally with a PHD
Knowledge and experience or willingness to learn database systems and data management
Proven experience with Django, Java or PHP is an advantage
Confident command of the German and English languages, both written and spoken
Ability to work in a team and willingness to cooperate, reliability, flexibility, personal commitment and independent working skills
Full Stack Developer is an advantage

The remuneration depends on your qualifications and professional experience up to EG 13 TV-L. It is a full-time position, which is limited to five years.
